Welcome to my new Fundrazr campaign to raise funds for my upcoming music projects!

My last solo album release was ‘Servants of Love’ in 2020. I received much generosity and support from you that helped bring that project to completion. I am truly grateful for your help in getting those songs out into the world. I have had a steady flow of positive feedback about ’Servants of Love’ and how deeply it has touched people’s lives and helped them through some of the hardest times.

This is what inspires me so greatly to continue to focus on my recordings. I literally have heard many stories where someone was going through a great loss, profound grief, a huge health challenge, chemotherapy, etc and they have told me personally how my music got them through. It just brings tears to my eyes as I realize just how powerful these songs can be.

I realize the importance of my work like never before and understand the responsibility I have as part of the light forces at work on the planet emanating love, compassion, harmony and peace - channeling and holding these higher frequencies is crucial for us at this time as humanity is going through this accelerated growth cycle.

I have big plans and aspirations to produce a lot of music in 2024. I have felt at times, if I could only take a whole year off from outer activities and just focus on recording, I would be able to finish the 5 album projects that have been on my ‘to do’ list for the last 3 years. But that is not possible at this time for financial reasons and also honestly it would be hard for me to just ‘disappear’ for a year! So I learn, as many artists and creatives do, to do the dance of finding time whenever I can, in between concerts, retreats and travels to shut my door and focus on creating music.

This is where you come in! Hundreds of hours of my time will be going into creating these projects. I have to make the time and make it a priority as much as possible. That means I have to forgo other activities and ‘jobs’ where I make income. I do not get paid for these hours. It is an investment, for sure but as we know about the music industry these days, one can spend a year making an album and thousands of dollars and in the end it may not bring the monetary return you had hoped for. Yet the music may have an ongoing positive impact for many souls, which is truly, I feel, the actual measurement of its success.

I need help as an artist and honestly, I can’t manifest these music projects without you. You are in that position as benefactor for me. It is a special relationship that has endured throughout time and through the ages. I rely entirely on income from my music-related endeavors and I live on whatever I get paid as I go. I look at any income coming from this Fundrazr as truly angelic and divine, from your heart to mine and coming from a place of love and our shared hope for humanity.

Goddess Mantra Japa Project: $7000

$2500 to cover some of my hours (recording, editing, etc)

$500 studio costs (new headphones, plug-ins, software, etc)

$1500 mixing & mastering (this is a good deal - I have credit with an engineer friend of mine)

$2000 promotion, online set up (social media, email networks, etc)

$500 pressing of 100 CDs (I always like to print up some CDs)

Morning Sky Project: $13,000

$3500 to cover some of my hours

$4500 mixing & mastering (I am hoping to be able to do it for this low amount)

$4500 promotion, online set up, marketing, management (I am hiring an artist growth management company for 6 months once the album is complete)

$500 pressing of 100 CDs

I have my own simple, mobile studio so I am able to jump in whenever possible. I am currently in Corvallis, Oregon bunkering down (easier to do when it’s rainy and cold) working on my ‘Goddess Mantra Japa’ album which is a collection of 10 Shakti mantras mostly in a format of 108 repetitions. I am trying to keep it more simple although I am a perfectionist and I can spend hours and hours looking for the right sound, or re-recording vocals until I get the perfect timbre and breath that I am looking for so it sounds and feels just right. 

I plan to release 'Goddes Japa'  in late January 2024. I feel divinely guided to put this one out first because Shakti mantras are particularly potent tools for us to navigate these times. You will be able to play the album on repeat in your home, for your meditations or yoga and japa practice and it will help purify the atmosphere and vibrations in your field and all around. I do this often in my home - I will play certain mantas on repeat and have them playing sometimes for hours in the background as I go about my day.

My December and January are filled with 8-12 hour studio work days, 6-7 days a week, recording, editing, adding synth and instrumental elements, learning more about the craft of engineering (it is never-ending!) to create a sonic tapestry that I am satisfied with and really excited to share with you. I will continue to work on the projects whenever possible throughout the spring.

Once the Goddess Japa album is finished I will start to work right away on my ‘Morning Sky’ album project. I can’t even express how excited I am to start this album!! This album will be a bit like ‘Servants of Love’ part 2. It will have a collection of songs that I have wanted to record for so long - songs that I wrote in the early 1990’s and throughout my career but haven’t been recorded yet. This album will include Walk Upon the Light, Pili ke Aloha, E Laka I, Light of Perfection, Holy Spirit and new songs you have never heard.  It will be in my signature style of mixing mantra with Englishwith a little more slant on the English songwriting, plus the Hawaiian songs. My plan is to begin releasing singles from it by May!  I am going to work really hard towards that goal.

Music artists have had to adapt to a rapidly changing industry where we don’t make income from CD sales anymore and direct downloads have dropped dramatically as well. We have to rely on digital distribution and corporate streaming aggregates that pay pennies per play for our music sales. And that can be great if you have millions of plays! Then you can start seeing some real income that can be a part of your support system.   But it takes a lot to get to having millions of plays and listeners. That has a lot to do with marketing and management. We always have to be innovative and figure out how to bring in other streams of income with our music. Also to be noted, I am still in the process of re-launching myself as a solo artist after 10 years of being a duo with Ananda. It's taking some extra effort, especially online, to re-establish myself as an independent artist. I know these new albums are going to help that in a big way.
