Hi, my name is Heather, and asking for help like this isn’t easy for me, but right now I’m facing an unexpected financial situation and trying to keep my household stable while I figure out what comes next.

I was on approved short-term disability for approximately six months because I was medically unable to work. Recently, my employer terminated my employment because I was still unable to return to work. I am currently in the process of transitioning to long-term disability, but unfortunately, rent, groceries, and everyday bills don’t stop while that process is happening.

Right now, my biggest concerns are keeping a roof over my family’s head, putting groceries in the house, and covering essential expenses while I wait for my income situation to stabilize.

I have been looking into local rental-assistance programs and other resources, but funding is extremely limited. One of the main programs I reached out to is currently unable to accept applications because of a lack of funding. I’m continuing to look for every resource available to me, but I also have to prepare for the possibility that assistance won’t come quickly enough.

What donations will help with

Funds raised will go toward:

• Rent and housing expenses
• Groceries and household necessities
• Essential utility bills
• Other basic expenses during this gap in income

My goal isn’t to raise more than I need. I’m simply trying to create a bridge between unexpectedly losing my employment and having another source of income in place.
