The Refuge Food Bank

We are a local community of believers here in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico desiring to serve our neighbors during this COVID Crisis.

The folks of Puerto Escondido are hard-working, industrious people, but because this town primarily depends on tourism, there is hardly any work for a large sector of people. As the weeks go by, we see the daunting impact this pandemic is inflicting on the families. And for this reason, we want to help supply care packages of needed, weekly grocery-items to the ones who have been directly or indirectly affected by Covid-19.

Each care package would cost $25usd (500 pesos) and would give a small family about a weeks worth of supplies.

A care package will primarily consist of items such as:
cooking oil, sugar, salt, bleach, toilet paper, soap, toothpaste, rice, beans, eggs, pasta, milk, Maseca, canned goods, Good News handouts, and other miscellaneous items.

Our first goal is to raise $2,000usd to help 100 families, but we desire to help many more.

I know that we are all suffering through these troubling times, but if you are able, please help us by giving a family a helping hand and by directing others to our project.
