Hello, my name is John Darbouze, and I would like to introduce my family. This is my long-term partner Suze, our eldest son Geovany, age 14, our daughter Anne Stacey, age 10, and our youngest child, Lea, age 3.
In 2022, we were forced to leave our home country of Haiti because of the growing violence, gang control, kidnappings, and political instability. Like many Haitian families, we were searching for safety and an opportunity to rebuild our lives. Since then, our journey has been filled with uncertainty, hardship, and many challenges.
As Haitian citizens living in the Dominican Republic, we have faced significant obstacles while trying to create a stable future for our family. We continue to work hard and do our best to move forward, but opportunities are often limited, making it difficult to build the life we dream of for our children.
Our family also suffered a tremendous loss when my father, who was the backbone of our family and helped support us financially every month, passed away from cancer. May God bless his soul. His passing left a deep emotional and financial impact on our family, and life has become much more difficult since then.
Today, our goal is to relocate to Mexico, where we hope to find safety, stability, and the opportunity to build a better future. To make this dream a reality, we need assistance with relocation expenses, housing, transportation, immigration-related costs, obtaining passports and birth certificates, and hiring a lawyer to help guide us through the legal process.
We are not asking for a handout. We are asking for an opportunity. We believe in hard work, perseverance, faith, and giving our children a chance to grow up in a safe environment with access to education and opportunities for success.
