It's a Cuddle Bear Book Drive!!
My name is Kendra Pierce, and I am an Usborne Books & More Independent Consultant. I am a Registered Nurse that has worked in many different areas, and currently I am a hospice nurse. Working in this field has resulted in many relationships and friendships with people all over the country. I have several friends that are some way impacted by foster care, and a few that I know that have foster children. I believe foster parents are brave, selfless souls offering their homes and hearts to children in need. I have also experienced multiple ways that pediatric cancer has affected people in this world. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month, and this all leads me to why I am here on Fundrazr, asking for your help!
I am going to use your amazing donations to purchase Cuddle Bear book and plush sets from Usborne Books & More and donate them to Wesleyan Youth, Inc., a non-profit that provides foster care services in the state of Oklahoma. Many children face an uncertain future, and it is scary to spend the first night in a strange home with people they do not know. Wesleyan Youth, Inc. provides all their foster children with a pack of essentials and they try to include things of comfort to ease the stress of a scary situation. Cuddle Bear is just that comfort they might need with a heartwarming story that goes along with it.
Not only will you be providing a Cuddle Bear book and plush to a foster child in Oklahoma, but you will also be helping with pediatric cancer research!!! How can that be, you ask?
Usborne Books & More donates a portion of the proceeds from each Cuddle Bear purchase to the Scott Carter Foundation that is helping to eliminate pediatric cancer from this world!!!
On top of all that, I will be using any rewards Usborne Books & More awards from sales to the purchase of even more Cuddle Bear sets!
You can see why I need your help. My goal is to raise $500!!! That sounds like a huge goal to set, but I believe that it can happen with your help! Be a hero to a child in need, whether they are in foster care or suffering from a terrible cancer diagnosis. I would LOVE to share pictures of the donation with everyone, and put a smile on your face!
