Hi! You can call me Coco Nutty. It's not my real name. I'm very shy. On May 9th, 2023, I was in a horrible car accident and got hit in the face with an airbag and have had dental issues because of it. I have an abscess on my gum and haven't been able to touch a part of my face without pain in over a year. I've went to countless dentists, and endodontists getting mixed answers all over the place because I'm autistic and have both severe anxiety and PTSD. A lot of dentists and endodontists think just because I'm autistic, my teeth aren't worth saving. Later, a dentist trying to help collapsed 1 of my teeth without looking at the x-rays. It's been a true nightmare trying to get them fixed because of my issues. Depending on what needs to be done I either need to be put under with nitrous gas or put to sleep in the hospital. I have a tendency to have asthma and panic attacks whenever I get the slightest bit stressed, sometimes even bad enough to go to the hospital. I also have a severe phobia of needles. Awhile back I went to an endodontist and told them about my severe anxiety and PTSD and to not tell me the results of the x-rays because I knew it would stress me out big time. Then they did it anyway and I had an asthma/panic attack and nearly passed out. The day of my wreck was a pretty horrible day too. Even though I was in 10 pain, they didn't give me so much as an over-the-counter Tylenol. They wouldn't let me take a breathing treatment when I needed it because the airbag hit me in the face. I breathed in whatever was in the airbag when I got my blood pressure taken. Normally the nurses don't mind me taking it off myself but the nurse forced me to put it back on just so she could take it off. I've been to consultation after consultation. So many I've lost count. Having to wait months to get in and having to drive as far as 4 hours away only to be sent somewhere else and the cycle repeats caused me so much mental stress and depression. Personally I don't know how much longer I can hold out before I potentially do something drastic. Because my teeth are damaged, I've found it hard to eat as well along with the dental issues. Every now and again I hear a loud siren sound in my right ear. It's pretty annoying but my insurance won't pay in most of the treatment I need. At the rate I'm going at current I wonder if I'll have to deal with these dental issues for the rest of my life. Because of the depression from all of this, I sleep away most of my day waiting for this nightmare to end. Please contribute and share!
