Edmund Khong hasn't added a story.
My name is Edmund Khong. I am a member of the World Clown Association and I like to help fellow clowns in need, whenever I can.
TamTam is a very new WCA clown but I am always inspired by his clown work and efforts. He is facing a lot of challenges because he does not have the basic clown supplies. For example, he does not have access to BASIC clown grease make-up and is currently using water-based "Face painting" paints donated by another kind WCA member, Kynisha Daisy, when she visited Kenya. She also generously donated a balloon pump, clown shoes, a hat and balloons to TamTam.
I was going to send him some of my own grease make-up and I realized that I have plenty of old but functional clown stuff that I can send him too! Some of these items are pretty big and heavy: Juggling clubs, balls, spinning plates, magic props and costumes.
He can use these items URGENTLY hence this fundraising campaign is ONLY 7 days. I want to send him the stuff ASAP.
A couple of ways you and I can help TamTam:
1. Donate to this campaign so that I can send a BIGGER BOX of clown stuff to him. TamTam has informed me that the ONLY secure way for him to get the stuff is through DHL. The postal service in Kenya is known to be extremely unreliable.
2. Send your clown items directly to him. You must use DHL. You can reach TamTam at his Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tommy.kariz

Hear from TamTam himself!
I am the organizer of the newly formed Furaha clowns here in Nairobi, Kenya. The art of clowning is not widely practiced or known in Kenya. Our passion for children influenced us to start this group which have been performing balloon modelling , bubbles, magic tricks, puppetry, music and physical comedy. The group comprises of five; Me: Edwin Kariuki (TamTam), Godffrey Mascarenhas (Hardee), Cyrus (Zimbo), Lucy (Kiki), and Sebastian Keli (Nikudi).
We are really interested in moving our society through this profound and beneficial art. We've done numerous gigs in orphanages and nursing home. We are also welcoming your support to help us engineer a hospital program.
Recently, we started entertaining street children who are branded
"chokora" or scavengers. Our doses of fun and laughter
have been successful in relieving their suffering in their harsh and
depraved environment often fraught with constant and sustained
danger in form of physical and sexual abuse, unplanned pregnancies,
loneliness,Sexual diseases, drugs, poor hygiene and sanitation. With
your support we will be teaching and promoting creative arts in the
streets while raising awareness of CHILD RIGHTS among them. This
impact a sense of belonging and a better life. You can make that happen.
Currently, we have a shortage of clown costumes, shoes,make-up and
props to sustain the growing membership. I believe costume and
make-up will help us stand out and convey our personality and
individuality while sharing EDUCATIVE SMILES. I have noticed
incorporating puppetry into clowning works magic, therefore we would
also love you to help us increase our puppetry supplies.
This is where you can help donate a little something and every bit
no matter how small will help us achieve our goals. We will
extremely be grateful of your kindness.
Thank you so much for your support.
Yours Faithfully,
Edwin Kariuki,
Ambassador of Smiles Kenya
