Bears for PMH raises funds to purchase Teddy Bears for the children who are hospitalised in Princess Margaret Hospital over the Christmas period. It is a small but simple way to make a difference to the child's hospital experience.

Welcome to "Bears for PMH" 2017

Our 5th year running.

To think that over the last 4 years we have given rays of happiness in the form of teddy bears to over 1450 children in hospital and children's homes and refuges around Perth.

In 2015 as part of our bear delivery we purchased some smaller teddies so that they could be used in the neonatal intensive care unit and for the toddlers that were in hospital. We also managed to deliver some soft bunnies for the children admitted over the Easter period.

Our aim for 2017 is to supply Princess Margaret Hospital with 100 bears for Christmas and to continue with Bunnies and Bears for next year.

All funds are received and handled with the utmost respect and on a trust basis. Surplus funds that are  raised are rolled onto the next soft toy purchase for the following year.

The cost of 1 bear is $8 dollars. If you cannot afford $8 any amount is greatly appreciated as all those small amounts added up gives a child a new friend :)

If you have collected cash amounts for the cause please contact me via email to organise collection and depositing. Also if you have any questions feel free to email.

The bears will be delivered to the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation on the 8th of December and will be handed out on the 13th of December 2018, as this is when PMH has it’s Christmas celebration day.

To abide by hospital regulations the bears must be purchased NEW and have TAGS. I have a few different suppliers and liaise with the Perth Children's Hospital Foundation as to what they need. Once the amount and style is decided on they are ordered, purchased and then delivered by myself or by some of my very kind friends who offer to help out.

We are also are not able to hand out the bears as the confidentiality of the patients needs to be respected, but we have had fantastic letters of thanks over the years as well as drawings and a few letters from parents and members of the hospital thanking us for what we are all doing do to bring a smile to the children's faces. Our efforts have also been acknowledged by the Government of Western Australia's Department of Health - Child and Adolescent Health Services.

The bears to these children are more than just toys. They are reminders that people care and they are not alone... As they always have their bear.

Love Jennifer
