 | I’m so excited to share that I’ve been chosen to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on Advanced Medicine at Georgetown University this summer! Ever since I was little, I’ve loved science and helping people — and after watching my mom live with Multiple Sclerosis, I was inspired to become a neurologist. This program is my first big step toward that dream. Hi! My name is Ava, and from July 5–14, I’ll be part of this incredible 10-day program designed for high school students who show a strong interest in science and medicine. I’ll live on campus, attend lectures from top physicians, take part in hands-on medical simulations, and even earn two college credits for completing the program. This isn’t just a camp — it’s a competitive academic experience that offers a real glimpse into medical school and the work doctors do every day. |
I've always loved science, learning how things work, and helping people. When I was younger, I spent hours doing experiments, dressing up as a doctor, and creating my own "science labs." But as I got older that curiosity grew into something more personal. Watching my mom face the challenges of MS has shown me how deeply the brain affects every part of our lives — and it's made me determined to understand it, and to help others living with neurological conditions. It's what drives me. |  |
Being chosen for this program is a huge honor and a dream come true — but attending comes with a cost of about $5,000, which covers tuition, housing, meals, transportation, college materials, and all program activities.
