My name is Mario. I am 38 years old and always interested in making
this world a better place.
Last year I decided to give my life a
new direction and more purpose. So I decided to volunteer for AHHA
Education in Cambodia. (http://ahhaeducation.org/)
The main focus of this NGO is to eliminate today's society's
biggest problem - the lack of education - by providing free foundation
education to underpriviledged children and youth. The program
includes: Science of Language (English), Science of Life (AHHA
skills), Maths, ICT, Accounting, Management and Administration.
I mainly support AHHA as a volunteering videoproducer and
English teacher. The videoproduction was already able to successfully
contribute a lot to the presentation of the unique English teaching
system developed by AHHA to the governments and universities of
several Asian countries and to initiate pilot projects, respectively.
Using the help of fundrazr.com I would like to take more care of
the local problems, i.e. the education center I am currently staying
at which are usually hard to cover by the limited budget of the NGO.
This help is meant to facilitate a good education of the local kids
which they could not get any other way.
Now WHAT am I raising funds FOR exactly?
Cambodia is currently in the middle of the monsoon season (rainy
season) which means we are constantly experiencing very hard rains.
Unfortunately the facility of the school does not have a proper
drainage system causing it to be flooded frequently. The water in the
outdoor classrooms make it impossible to teach.
Also the roof consisting of thin sheet metal is leaking in many places. Remember the students do not only study here, they also live here!
So all of your wonderful people's donations are going to be used to take care of this situation by buying pipes, a Diesel-run water pump, shovels to dig ditches, cement, all tools and material necessary to seal the roof, etc.
Therefore I am appealing to your wish to do something good and to your big heart and ask you to donate any amount you feel reasonable. ANY amount is highly appreciated.
Let us give something back to the less fortunate in this world!
