Help Pender Perfect Pets rescue dogs<3
Pender Perfect Pets is a one person rescue organization committed to saving Pit Bulls,seniors dogs and large breed dogs mainly in Pender County Animal Shelter but also in Duplin,and Brunswick shelters in North Carolina as well.
Pender Perfect Pets has grown significantly in the past year. The rescue started in the home of Leanne Esteves.She would take on one maybe two dogs,vet them with money she raised from local yard sale sites,craigslist and even selling picture frames she made. Leanne found the need for the particular dogs she saved was mind blowing. Pit bulls and seniors especially are some of the most forgotten about dogs in shelters. They are over looked for puppys or "more adoptable dogs" by a lot of other rescues. While Leanne understands the need to have a high adoption rate with rescues in order to continue saving dogs..it still amazed her how many Pit Bulls and seniors who were so friendly and so loving were not even considered because of their age or breed.
Leanne set out to change the way rescue was done and so far 6 years later she is still continuing to make a difference for these so called "un adoptables" but at this point is barely making it by to continue to help these dogs.
Pender Perfect Pets does not refuse to take on a dog with heartworms,does not refuse to take on a dog with special needs but the reality is most of the time the dogs she helps are unfortunately going to cost more to get medical care for. Spaying and neutering,shots etc the normal stuff already takes a good chunk of fundraising but when you get into heartworm postive dogs,or dogs with hip dysplasia ,dogs who need amputations...the cost goes up significantly. On top of that providing food and crates to fosters while these dogs are in foster care for sometimes upwards of 6 months can be financially devastating as well.
