My father survived a stroke—but without urgent care, he may not survive what comes next.
My name is Geraldine, and I am asking for your help in one of the most painful moments of my life.
My 69-year-old father, who lives in Venezuela, recently suffered a severe ischemic stroke that changed everything in a matter of minutes. Today, he struggles to speak, move, and take care of even his most basic needs. Watching this happen to him has been absolutely heartbreaking.
His situation is even more critical due to his medical history. He has long-standing hypertension and has been on anticonvulsant medication for over 30 years after a traumatic accident that caused a skull fracture. Over the years, he has also suffered facial paralysis, pleuritis, and a clavicle fracture. His body is already fragile, and now he is facing the fight of his life.
I am currently in Chile, doing everything I can from afar—but it is not enough.
In Venezuela, access to proper medical care is extremely limited and expensive. Right now, my father urgently needs:
Continuous medical treatment
Essential medications
Physical and speech rehabilitation
Daily care and basic supplies
Without this support, his chances of recovery are very low.
