Sandra Boggs hasn't added a story.
We are coming up on the hardest time of year for Ace, Fig and me. We still have, likely, a month and a half of lawn care, and now we have had to turn the heat on, for a cold front. The extra money we got toward our electric bill from Bell-Whitley ran out last month, and our biggest electric bills are December, January and February. We usually don't have to use heat until lawn care is done for the year, but not this year. I'm trying to get accustomed to setting the thermostat much lower, but woke up to a 63 degree house, today. I can't stand that.
Bell-Whitley is supposed to winterize us, but we are on a waiting list, and were told it was pretty long. That should help some with the heating, but we are waiting.
We also have property taxes coming up, and those usually come late November, early December. Those will be $500, and likely higher than that this year. I only make $1273. a month.
We recently had Vet Bills for both dogs, with this intestinal virus and that set us back $200. They are both senior dogs and both have kidney disease, so you never know when they will need to see the Vet. We try our best to keep them healthy, and for the most part, they are healthy!
In the meantime, my landline phone has stopped working, and I need to replace it. It is old. I have fixed it many times, but have been unable to this time. My Sump Pump has stopped working, and my basement is flooded, once again. A friend is going to take the book and try to troubleshoot it, but we may have to replace it, too.
My computer is also acting up in a bad way. I am hoping adding memory will extend it's life a little, when I can afford it, and I am trying to restart it, every time it acts up, to take some of the work load off of the processor. It runs hot, all the time.
I can't tell you how horrible I feel having to ask for help at all, but especially knowing there are people who have suffered through these hurricanes that are so much worse off than I am. I wish I didn't have to ask for help, but if I don't, we will be choosing between food, heat, medicine, and general upkeep of our home, car and ourselves.
Most of you know I am coming off bankruptcy, last year, and I was fortunate to get 2 credit cards, this year. One has already cancelled me, through no fault of my own, but they were scared of me actually using the card. I still have to pay it, with interest, of course. Another hardship to pay, and not be able to use it, but I do understand why they did it.
So here I am, asking for help, once again. I wish I didn't have to, and I hope I won't have to again, but I can't make any promises, until this inflation goes away, and God only knows how long that will be. I am certainly trying my best to make it.
In addition to this fundraiser and donations, There are other ways you can help us, and we appreciate any and all help! Kroger Cards are always helpful for Groceries! Walmart Cards and Food City Cards, are also good for groceries, but I get most at Kroger's. Ace and Fig prefer Chewy Cards, if you prefer to help them! Chewy has all they need, but 1 thing.
Fig has 1 treat she gets from Amazon, and I will also have an Amazon list of only what we will need through the end of February, again, if you prefer to help us that way instead of the fundraiser.
I have to use what little I make for utility bills, credit card bills, lawncare, for at least a month to a month and a half, exterminator, prescriptions for the dogs and myself, and divide what little is left on food for myself, and doggie auto-ships. Donations here will help with that, where I don't have near enough.
Ace and Fig are both on prescription food, and that is priority number one for them! It is $113.00 a month for 24 cans, which does not quite last them a month. They need an extra pallet to get them through the end of the Winter. I can use 6-7 cans a month out of it, for 4 months. Ace also has an autoship coming up in December for his Heart Worm Preventative. Fig just got hers, last month, so she is good until Spring!
Thank you so much to everyone who has and who will help us. We would never have made it without your help! May God Richly Bless You!
