My good friend/brother (Dustin Cole), who is a local south Louisiana and south Mississippi musician was struck by a car early this morning Tuesday 9/19/2023 while commuting to work on his bicycle in Picayune, MS around 5:50am. He was air lifted from Picayune up to Forest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Dustin underwent emergency surgery as soon as he arrived there to remove part of the left side of his skull. This was done quickly to help with the internal bleeding as well as brain swelling. He is now in the ICU in critical condition in an induced coma. He suffered a pretty bad head injury, collapsed lung, broken collar bone and broken ribs on both sides. Dustin also has no movement on his right side at all at this time. They are not sure how permanent this is until he awakens hopefully within the next few coming days. Dr’s are saying that if everything goes as planned, he will be in the hospital for at least a few weeks if not longer with a long road to recovery ahead of him. His wife and kids really need all of our financial help in this very unexpected difficult time in their lives. As Dustin can not work at this time and his wife Carrie also needs and wants to be right by his side right now of course. This means they will have zero income for who knows how long. I don’t want them worrying about what they’ll do for money right now. These donations will be used to help them cover their home’s rent, medical bills, other monthly bills and just to live off of right now. “Any” amount that you may be able to spare will help them greatly.
