Hello everyone.
I hope and pray that you are all doing well and remaining safe during all the troubled times that I have seen going on around the world. Everyone is in my prayers as we all move into our future. I want to apologize first off. It seems time has a way of getting away from us as life's trials and tribulations find us. Because of that, I suppose, I had forgotten that I had even tried to set this fundraiser up much less actually published it.
I would first off like to thank our contributor! I'm not sure if everyone knows what a true blessing every cent actually is, but I assure you each one is nothing short of a miracle when ones perception is clouded by terminal illness of ones self or their loved ones. God bless you! Danny and I are extremely thankful for your help.
As far as an update on Danny goes, since creating this campaign it's been a bumpy ride. Shortly after creating this Danny's health and spirit seemed to lift, somewhat. The swelling that had been caused from the imonia levels increasing from his liver failing began to disapate and soon to our suprise Danny was back down to his normal weight. Back in his normal clothes and having a bit more energy then when he was swollen he began moving around, going outside, visiting with people he cares about and some of his close friends. He even tried to fiddle around under the hood of his old Jeep once or twice. That proved to be a bit more then he was ready for though but we are proud that he was at the least able to try. That's always been one of his favorite things to do! With the swelling gone his appetite began to improve and spirits continued to rise as well. This period of perceived improvement was not only a much needed break for he and I both it was yet another of God's blessings.
Unfortunately, about three weeks ago, slowly he has began to swell once more. During the time of improvement I was able to get his insurance worked out and even apply for some jobs. It seems employers aren't fond of hiring people that may have to leave unexpectedly at the moments notice or take a leave of absence when their loved one has to be admitted to a hospital. It's one thing to know any employee may present these issues but to hire one that is not a might could happen vs. hiring one who is a will happen and is just a matter of when it will happen. So, I have not obtained steady employment as of yet. I have been able to procure 3 houses to clean. One is monthly and the other 2 are once a week, so this does help.
Danny's breath is once again getting more labored the more he swells. In the first pictures I posted upon creating this he weighed roughly 145lbs, which was the average weight for his adult life give it take a pound or two. He now weighs 210 lbs last he was weighed. Id say it's closer to 215 now though. His liver doctor told us that being he missed so many appointments when he had no insurance that he would now have to go back to his primary care provider and obtain another referral before she would see him. So, we did exactly this. However, right after getting the referral and before making the actually appointment my car broke down. I put it in the shop and now risk loosing it because I don't have the 600 dollars necessary to get it out.Without the car we haven't been able to make the appointment because the doctor is about an hour and fifteen minutes from where we live. Two hours and thirty min round trip. It's difficult to find a ride in to town much less that far away, everyone either works or has other responsibilities, which I understand. I just pray we find either a way to get the car or a way to get back and forth to the doctor soon.
Since his health has began to go back down he seems to be becoming more and more depressed. I too have been dealing with depression. He because of his health and me because I just feel like I'm not doing enough but I can't seem to figure a way to do it all. I need get him back and forth to the doctor, but the cars broke down. I have to be able to provide for he and I both outside of his 600 a month check, but if I go to work who is going to care for him on those days he isn't able to himself or when admitted to another hospital. I have to maintain housing and lights and water and necessities but with no job there is no money.
Like I said in the begining of this we are truly grateful for our contributor, but the struggle continues to go on and to be honest, I feel as though we are drowning and have no where that we can turn to for help.
Once again, I can only turn to the hopeful kindness of strangers. Honestly, I'm begining to loose what little hope I had left. Danny is all I have left and I am all he has as well. I beg of anyone reading this to put yourself in our shoes. I know everyone has problems in this day and age but imaging yourself in our shoes then learning either your dying and leaving your sister here all alone or that your brother is inevitably going to die because of his liver and your the only person here to help him and your not even able to do that very well at all. Whatever I need Ill be fine without or with but Danny shouldn't spend his last days feeling like he isn't able to do enough for me, which he does, when he already has a terminal illness, the loss of our mom, and yet another abandonment by our estranged father, constantly pulling at his nerves and emotions. He needs peacefulness and some worry less down time or at least less things to worry about. I beg you, PLEASE HELP ME HELP MY BIG BROTHER, PLEASE. Anything you might could spare will make a world of difference and be a miracle in our life that is, at least right now a very dark and scarry place to be.
