January 2020, One Bag At A Time will be making their 8th annual trip to Cuba.*As seen on Cuban news.
Our team, which are all seniors from across Canada, have been busy sorting and packing donations bound for Cuba's seniors and at-risk children of Cardence, Cuba.
For the second year in a row, the amount of donations that we've received have not only exceeded our goals for the year, they have also exceeded our personal baggage allowance.
We are hoping to raise $2500.00.
- shipping, transportation and delivery of the items donated, which are destined for Cardence Cuba.
- regular meals with protein for approximately 150 seniors.
- the purchase of a TV, would let a room full of seniors enjoy TV, versus the small table top TV that only a few can huddle around.
Here is a list of just some of the donations received, packed and ready for Cardence.
Medical supplies: Cases of diapers, Syringes, Band-Aids, slings, braces, Surgical gloves, commodes, bed rails, boost crystals, wet wipes.
Walking aides: Walker, wheelchair, transfer chair, canes, and crutches.
Personal items: Clothes, shoes, hygiene products, school supplies, back packs , teaching aides.
Sports equipment: Ball gloves, balls, cleats, sport cones, fishing rods, tackle, tennis rackets, Badminton sets.
Because of the lasted economic restraints which Cuba is now under, it is harder than ever for the Cubans to obtain even the most basic of items.
Together with your help, we can make a difference. Approximately 150 at-risk seniors and children in Cardence will receive and benefit from these donations, helping make their days a little brighter, and a little easier to face.
