Peter James hasn't added a story.
There's no sense in arguing about the importance of shifting to clean energy sources. The question is not whether to pick clean energy or non-renewable energy, but which clean source of energy to start shifting to as soon as possible. The world is rapidly showing ill-effects of unclean energy use and it's up to every single person to start embracing clean energy sources.
The most popular sources of clean energy are undoubtedly solar and wind energy. However, it can't be emphasized that the sun as an energy source is more viable in most parts of the globe than wind energy. This is because the latter option isn't always reliable and strong winds aren't always sweeping the entire globe. Wind energy is only viable and practical in places where strong winds are consistent. Solar energy, on the other hand, can be harnessed in most parts of the globe. The few exceptions where solar energy is not a good idea are places where the sun is up for half a year straight and then out of sight for the next six months. It's also not viable in places that are unfortunate enough to have a semi-permanent cloudy weather.
More and more households these days are using the sun's energy for most of their household devices. Plenty of new devices today are catered towards a solar energy friendly crowd. It makes perfect sense for a home to use solar energy now that production of solar panels and other equipment are streamlined. Back then, the cost was relatively high due to the scarcity of supply and the novelty of this clean energy source. With the world embracing LED as the preferred lighting fixture, solar energy has spiked in popularity even more. LED lighting requires a smaller amount of energy, which is perfect for households that collect solar energy and use them up at night-time.
Interestingly, solar energy use goes beyond household use. A lot of businesses are incorporating solar power into their infrastructures in order to save wherever possible. Businesses that have a wide parking area can cut costs significantly just by installing solar powered parking lights instead of lamps that depend on the grid for power. It's obvious from both residential and commercial standpoint that solar energy is simply the better option.
Local communities also take advantage of solar energy by installing new, solar powered street lamps. What's amusing about this trend is that they are taking down existing street lamps that are powered by the grid and are replacing them with solar powered counterparts. On the surface, this seems impractical and costly. But the benefits of solar power in the long run say otherwise.
For household use, it's still best to do extensive research before outright buying solar panels and fixtures. Even deciding between Panasonic vs SunPower Solar as go-to brands are important when setting up a house that's powered by the sun. Because even though solar cells and equipment may have lowered in cost throughout the years, it's hard to deny that it still requires substantial investment.
