Hey I'm Stephanie (Erdel) Taglianetti. I grew up in Island Park, NY. The town used to be full of lush green sycamore and maple trees. Super storm Sandy in 2012 killed a majority of my town's 80-100 year old trees due to salt water damage. Last fall 2016, the Village of Island Park was forced to remove the dead and damaged trees due to the dead branches falling all over cars and potentially hurting pedestrians.  The village has a budget to replace about 215 trees but more than 300 were taken down. This fundraiser is designed to contribute more trees to the village arsenal so we can replant and replace ALL trees that were removed last fall and maybe all a few more. More trees = fresher air, calmer residents and a more beautiful village. Let's do our best to restore our environment post-Sandy!
