KAMBIZ SHABANKARE was born in Tehran in 1973 and studied Theater direction at Sooreh Art University of Tehran. Since 1998, he has directed numerous experimental theatre, short and documentary films (including Head Over Heels), and TV programs; his first feature film was 2005’s, Tehran 25th hour that, because of its sensitive subject, it was banned by Iranian national TV and all copies and footages were collected by the law enforcement.
Kambiz has spent almost 2 years in Iranian prison because of his outspoken attitude and the sensitive topics of his works which all carried stories against the dictator government.

Kurdish Women have already played an important role in Kurdish History, Society and Politics. By the Kurdistan divided between Iran, Turkey, Iraq and Syria, the relation and tradition between Kurds not only did not change but the have supported each other despite the border lines.
The story of Kubani and Kurdish women who kicked ISIS out of their land is one of the millions of the legend of kurdish women throughout the history.
The movie "Flowers of Kurdistan" will tell the story of kurdish women and their struggles and roles as mothers along to be fighters. Also the movie will take a look of the hero fighters of Kubani who fought and saved their city despite the fact that the whole world believed saving Kubani is impossible.
