Jason Crawford hasn't added a story.
Hello,
My name is Jason. I am on here looking for some much needed help from my brothers and sisters in Christ for the much needed financial help for my Grandmother who has sacrificed so much for me. I'm 32 years old and a full time college student. Back in 2010 I was diagnosed with Crohns Disease. However two years prior to finding out about my condition/official diagnosis I was already being seriously affected by it. I had under gone seven major abdominal surgeries during that two year period of time due to bowel obstructions caused by the crohns. That was just during those first two years. It being 2014 now I have undergone a total of 13 major operations because of the Crohns since 2008. This was and continues to be hard for me. However if it wasn't for the un-requested financial generosity and sacrifice of my Grandmother I don't know where I would be today. She helped me rebuild my life twice due to extreme financial set backs witch were caused by all of my surgeries and hospitalizations. If it wasn't for her enormous generosity and love I don't know we're I would be today. Grandma was to stubborn to allow me to say no and many times payed it forward without me even knowing about it until it was already done. God bless her. Everyone says that their Grandmother is the best ever! Witch all Grandma's are wonderful. However she truly is an amazing woman/person in general. She came over from Poland after World War 2. She witnessed her parent's and 3 sister's and 4 brothers killed during the war while at prison camps. She and only one of her brothers survived. She eventually got married to my Grandfather, they had two daughters my Mother Halina and Aunt Donna. After having them they all relocated to the states and settled in Chicago where I was born. At the age of six my Grandfather died and my Grandmother never re-married. Goes to show you how strong old school love and commitment is. She was always there for me during my childhood and has continued to be throughout several of my adult years as well. I remember like it was yesterday her walking me to school almost everyday for 8 years taking care of me after school while my mother worked, by babysitting me at the small children's clothing shop on that she worked at on Devon in Chicago. Her very dear friend Milton owned the store, however my Grandmother was the one who ran it. Her and Milton where the only two workers there for as long as she was there. So I would spend my afternoons there with her. She was so amazing with everyone. All the customers loved her. She was also very involved within our community. Volunteering her time at local retirement homes/hospitals and so on. Many times I would stay the weekend with her. It was always a lot of fun! So many happy memories! Anyway, I'll get right down to the reason for this Fundraiser. I feel I owe it to her to somehow replace a good chunk of the money she payed out over the last several years to help me, even though I tried to refuse it. Just goes to show you how wonderful she is. However at the age of 91 now and with her many pretty serious medical conditions she has and with the new health care laws, she is now struggling bad. Because she spent what she did on me to help me out she has put herself in a position to where she can't financially carry herself in a comfortable way anymore ever since these new health care laws came to be. Her insurance premiums have doubled, and her co-pays for some of her very important medications have doubled. I carry a HUGE sence of guilt and pain that brings tears to my eyes every day because I feel like it's my fault even though I know it's not. But the stress it's causing her is so great it's affecting her health physically. It pains me to think that if she passes on due to the stress from her finances being depleted, that it's because of me. She deserves to be able to not have to worry and to be able to enjoy her last years. To be able to enjoy the small perks she enjoys witch aren't much but make a huge difference in her daily spirits and happiness. She has helped and touched so many people's live that I remember. Built a life for her and her family here. Never complained or cheated anyone. And she did all of these things even after having a kidney removed and fought breast cancer causing her to loose one of her breasts, as well as over the last decade or so has been dealing with the very painful condition called Shingles. Her health just isn't were I know it could be if she didn't have to stress over her finances. She is at that age were stress impacts her physical wellness greatly. And it would just tear me apart knowing that in a way I'm the reason for her passing. So PLEASE if you can help please do so. I know it's hard to donate to someone you don't know. But she truly deserves the help and this is the only way I know of being able to help re-generate some of her hard earned money that is urgently needed. She deserves it so much. She has sacrificed so much for me financially, and it makes me feel really bad that right now being a full time student I can't help to repay her. She needs to be able to take care of herself and not stress. But without recouping some of her hard earned retirement funds I only see things to get worse for her. So I say again, If you can please send anything that you can spare for her it would be truly appreciated so much! I THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR ANY DONATION YOU CAN MAKE TO HELP ME HELP MY GRANDMA! GOD BLESS!
