I am kindly asking for financial support for my bike repair shop – RetroVelo, located in Wejherowo, the spiritual capital of Kashubia.

🛠️ Who Am I and What Do I Do?

RetroVelo is a place created out of a passion for two wheels. For 10 years, I have been committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of cyclists, offering comprehensive service, professional advice, and building a local cycling community. I believe that a functioning bike is the foundation of a healthy lifestyle, eco-friendly transportation, and fewer headaches when paying for repairs. I have been interested in the history of bicycles for even longer, and it was vintage bikes that inspired me to take them seriously 🚴 💯

🎯 Fundraising Goal – Why Do We Need Support?

To meet the growing needs of the local and national community and keep this place alive, I strive, above all, to maintain the rented premises. The premises cost 600 Euro per month, located on the main road through Wejherowo (and you're probably wondering why I can't find another, cheaper place? There are other places, but more expensive and for different purposes. I was lucky to find this particular place).

Furthermore, I will purchase increasingly expensive bicycle parts and accessories, modernize the workshop, expand my offerings to include e-bike and scooter battery servicing, and advertise outside the premises.

The necessary funds will be allocated to:

Premises maintenance: renting a premises with utilities consumes a significant portion of the budget.

Tool purchase: replacing worn-out tools with modern ones that guarantee faster and more precise service.

Purchase of parts and accessories: purchasing on an ongoing basis increases the time required for repairs and, ultimately, for bike pickup. Expanding the service offering: requires purchasing and adapting parts of the workshop to this type of business.

Purchase visual advertising outside your premises: there's a light box above the service center and a fairly large area right on the road, mounted on a street lamp post.

🤝 What Do We Offer in Return?

By supporting RetroVelo, you're investing not only in the service center itself, but above all, in the safety of every cyclist. The bikes that come to my service center are in such poor condition that one, or maybe two, conclusions arise: people can't afford the expensive services of large repair shops. They often avoid such places, accepting the poor condition of once-nice and functional bikes, ultimately calling them junk. And yet, very often, they spent a lot of money on them. An expensive service center discourages the desire to repair, and new, good bikes are expensive.

Yes, I repair bikes cheaply because I wouldn't want to pay more than the large repair shops charge. On the other hand, I'm not a businessman, just a 50-year-old idealist and enthusiast who wants a bit of normalcy in this industry.

Regardless of the level of support, I will definitely offer my donors a gift with my service logo, just as a keepsake because it might be worth something someday? 😉 And in fact, I often install bells, grips, or handlebar grips for free.

Of course, with large donations, expectations can be specific, which will be discussed individually with each person, so feel free to reach them. Large donations are welcome. 😍
