The literacy gap in our region has grown since the outbreak of COVID-19. More than 35% of kindergarten age students entering school are lacking the skills needed to succeed. It is proven that having books in the home fosters a love of reading and curiosity for learning. The goal with this fundraiser is to help students at Bear River Charter School kickstart the year with a love of reading so they can achieve at or above grade level reading skills. 

I am hosting this Back to School Book Drive to gift EVERY student at BRCS an at reading level book to take home. This will give each student access to quality content that will help them practice and develop their reading skill. Additionally, Usborne Books will match 50% of every dollar donated! My hope with this matching  program is to raise enough in donations to provide a book to each student AND be able to get FREE books for the school library.
