New arrivals include Gareth, who was traced to a "public shelter" after his mum and sibling were killed by dog catchers; three puppies, Romeo, Braveheart and Milo, who were found dumped on Caki's doorstep overnight - sadly Milo died unexpectedly while in foster care; and Forest Gump, found living in a cardboard shelter in the forest. Later in the month Bruno was found with serious injuries related to dog fighting; thankfully he is now recovering well, and seems very friendly. During Diane's visit in late October a number of dogs were rescued, including Cody (was Huggy), Bluebell, Tina, and a pointer pup: although transport has very generously been covered, there are still some pension costs. Five little black pups were found on a mountainside, with no hope of survival: they are Ivy, Jasmin, Lola, Pippa and Tilly. Just a couple of days later Caki received a call that there were three little puppies without mum that were very vulnerable - now named Ana, Azra and Amina. Helena was rescued after her owner, an older lady, left her behind when she moved home.Departures include Mara and Paddy.
Wilson was found after being hit by a bus: despite the vet's best efforts he could not be saved. RIP little fellow.
We also have outstanding vet bills for Pip, Wilson (RIP) and Bruno, and neutering costs for Cody and the pointer pup, as well as the usual vaccination, antiparasitic, passport and testing costs for new arrivals. Additionally, costs were incurred for collecting large donations of food for shelter dogs, as this had to be collected from Romania.

FUNDRAZR FEES: If you are using PayPal via Fundrazr you should now be able to set the "tip" to zero: if you find your donation is automatically refunded via PayPal, you may need to include a small tip, or you can of course still make a direct payment to Caki's PayPal - see above.
TAX: The Bosnian authorities have retrospectively imposed a 10% tax on all PayPal and other electronic payments to private individuals received from overseas. As a result we have to add a further 10% to cover this cost. Caki is working with professional advisers to find how best to minimise this extra cost, and the potentially crippling retrospective liability: PLEASE MARK YOUR DONATIONS as "GIFT".
