Parties are no parties without alcohol to drink. Alcoholic beverages are what invite people to enjoy the occasion. It serves as a mood booster in a gathering of people. According to scientific studies conducted, an individual who is ALDH2 deficient may develop squamous cell esophageal cancer. Take note that this is one of the world's deadliest forms of cancer. This means that for these people drinking alcohol is more than just a cosmetic problem but it also means compromising their very health and their life.

People who are ALDH2 deficient are prone to develop tumors, especially alcohol drinkers since they have frequent exposure to acetaldehyde, specifically on their upper aerodigestive tract such as the pharynx, oral cavity, esophagus and larynx. The tissues on these areas are vulnerable to cancer formation once exposer to alcohol.
