Saving Argo Dog Rescue was born out of a need our family recognized when we helped a shelter dog name Sawyer find a forever family in 2009. Shorty after came Lucy who we nursed back to health from Parvo, we realized we had the ability to save these dogs that had been forgotten and left to die in crowded shelters or on the streets. Nearly 500 dogs later we are still on the same mission, to help the ones that need us the most. That usually means the ones who need extra medical care and no adopter is going to pay a $1200 or $1800 adoption fee so the rest falls on us. We never let money stand in the way of a rescue, we treated each dog as a precious being that deserved to be helped and we just figured it out along the way. But because of this we have been struggling for 2 years to stay on top of our $2100 vet bill, each time we pay a little down we have to add to it. We have to pay $1000 immediately to our vet to still have access to affordable vet care. The reality of not making this goal is heartbreaking, we have worked so hard and helped so many over the past 7 years. I remember each one, their story and how happy they are now, I hope we can continue to help others in the future but that future is very uncertain right now. If everyone could care about these dogs as much as we do and our rescue friends do I don't think any dog would ever feel unloved. But we have a lot of work to do yet, I hope we can continue to do it, can't imagine life any other way.
