Farmers in India, especially in the Marathwada and Vidarbha regions of Maharashtra are committing suicide owing to prevailing drought conditions and unending debt. It has not rained enough for the last few seasons and whatever was produced goes into repaying outstanding debt. The situation is acute for the small land holders. Over 1500 Farmers have committed suicide in 2015 so far alone. We are raising funds to support families of Farmers in India who have committed suicide or are in a vulnerable situation forcing to contemplate suicide.

Why do we care about this?

People have a right to Live & Live the Life they Love with dignity. Farmers are the backbone of the Indian culture who work hard to feed more than 1.2 billion people.

How will the money be spent?
We have identified 3 Farmers and their Families in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra State in India who desperately need support.
1. Mr. Kuntalwad Age 55, struggling to cope owing to drought and debt condition. Requires £300 to buy Seeds and Fertilizer for 2 1/2 acres of land for the Rabbi season crop
2. Mr. Pandagale, Age 45, committed suicide earlier this year. We intend to support his working wife by providing £300 to support education for her 3 daughters.
3. Mr.Wankhede, Age 34, committed suicide earlier this year. We intend to support his wife who works in fields with £400 to install a Borewell in her farm. If this is successful, it could be a long-term solution for their livelihood.

When will supporters see the difference?
As soon as in Nov 2015 The Funds have to be raised by 13th Nov to provide the support they need. Mr. Kuntalwad needs Funds immediately to buy Seeds for Rabbi Crop in November.
