Hello this fund raising is to give Sheree and Chris a better life and to give Sheree her MORE Independence in life .
Sheree has a Physical Disability called Arthrogryposis Multi Complex Conjenita, this is a rare physical Disability with 1 in 17,000 people in Australia are born with it. A person who is born with this disability has very little bend in their legs, elbows and knees, their shoulders are fused, so they have limited movement, tight tendons in fingers and toes and fused ankles.
Sheree has her Learners licence and she is trying to raise some money
to pay for a new car, so that she can get it modified.
There are
going to be plenty of electronics and other extensions, for a new car
and all these modifications, the price is pretty hefty... Much too
expensive for Sheree and Chris to pay for themselves, and Sheree's
services do not have enough funds to pay for it either, they would
need at least $20,000 for the car and modifications.
Sheree has the burning desire to be as independant as possible.
When Sheree has constantly been told she can't drive, she wants to
prove everyone wrong, she won't be able to do it on her own, she'll
need all of your support.
There are plenty of people with her
disability who have gotten behind a wheel :)
Sheree and Chris are also trying to raise enough money to get a
deposit to build or buy their own house, as they are living in a
rental property.
Since they have lived in Adelaide for just over a year, they have had to move 7 times due to the house has either been unsafe for Sheree or the landlord has decided that they would like their house back.
When they first moved to Adelaide, they had the best house, but the landlord decided to tell them to move out just before Christmas because he had to move back to Adelaide.
Nearly a whole year after Chris and Sheree had moved out he had only just moved in.
So after all the trouble they have had, this is why it would be beneficial for Sheree and Chris to own their own home, whether it be built or bought.
With Sheree and Chris owning their own home, they will be able to be provided with in home modifications for Sheree and her needs.
Unlike rental properties, they will be able to do a lot more to their own home, which Sheree will then gain more independence in her home and in her life.
If she gets in home modifications, the possibilities are endless for her and for Chris.
Sheree will be able to prepare and cook meals, wash the dishes, put the dishes away, put clothing away, turn light switches on and off, open and close doors and so on.
What does this mean for Chris?
He will be able to do more things
for himself, even though he loves helping Sheree, he wouldn't have it
any other way. But in saying that, Chris is happy when he sees when
Sheree can do things for herself.
For the new car, car modifications and the house deposit, they will
need $50,000
The money that is Raised will go to Purchasing Sheree A New Model Car to be Modified to her needs and the rest will go towards a deposit on a house and also to pay for the modifications
