I have created a donations page to help my sister and her family through this very difficult time. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl April 4th 2014 at 3:15pm. Unfortunately things did not go as well as we had all prayed and hoped it would and there were major complications with the birth. She was in labor for an exhausting 3 days starting since that wed morning. When the baby was finally born she was not breathing and the Drs tell us that we were literally seconds away from losing her. She had aspirated a large amount of Whitney's blood into her lungs causing what is like a chemical burn. I thank the lord every second for the Medstar employees from the ambulance that were there to save my wonderful niece with an intubation tube and a ventilator. She was rushed over to Deaconess NICU where they have been taking amazing care of her. She is still currently in critical condition at this point but is progressing at a beautiful rate. The Drs state they are amazed at what a fighter she is cause she was considered that 2nd sickest baby in the ICU when she was admitted. Already today they are talking about starting to ween her off of the ventilator and meds that are helping her survive.  They are hoping to only have to keep her in the ICU for around 7 days, but states it may take up to a couple weeks for her to build her stamina up enough to completely take her off of the IVs and respirators. 

The reason I created this page was mainly to help keep all family and friends informed and continuously updated on her condition. Also my sister Whitney has unfortunately ran into some financial issues previous to this and now her and Tony (the father) have been out of work this whole week and will continue to stay at their daughters side at the ICU to give her the continued support she needs until she is healthy enough to come home. We are hoping by reaching out to our family and friends that we may be able to raise enough money to help her at least meet the requirements to pay her bills for this month. Any and all help received would be greatly appreciated and we thank you for your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most. We will continue to keep you updated on this site on how she is progressing. Please feel free to share this story with any of your loved ones!
