Help Ayanda (tk) go to Moody Bible College
My name is Ayanda Khumalo, otherwise known as TK. I am a musical worship leader and Christian Artist. I have been accepted into Moody Bible College to study a B.Mus. degree due to start this Fall.
For the past 15 years of my 27 year of existence, I have been involved in worship and music in high school and in the church, here in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Africa. From the age of 5 I have been involved and exposed to music. I started singing at the age of 8, and when I went to Falcon College High School at the age of 12 I started playing the drums and singing in the band. I also started writing songs at the age of 15 and started playing the bass guitar and acoustic guitar. When I graduated from High school, I was then able to go on and play at the Bulawayo Baptist Church, and also direct the music ministry for 4 years and also sit on the church diaconate. I am still at Bulawayo Baptist but passing on the baton as i move to Study at Moody Bible College this Fall 2013. I have also been able to write and record some of my music under limited resources. In these past 12 years I know there has been a calling on my life and I believe and know The Lord has called me to write songs for the church and lead His church musical worship. I have had the privilege of opening for Darlene Zschech(formerly of Hillsongs) when she visited Zimbabwe with Joyce Meyer. I have also had the privilege of touring the USA in the past 2 years leading musical worship in different churches, and also teaching and training in musical worship in Francistown, Botswana. I also currently technically support and train worship leaders and musicians in the Bulawayo region and also organizations like Youth for Christ (Zimbabwe). I believe taking time to study further in music and worship at Moody will make me a more efficient and effective tool for The Lord in ministry.
I have been able to raise money for the first year but need your support and assistance for the remaining 4 years of study. My church and family are not able to cover the retainer of the 4 years as raising the first years fees have been challenging already. Let me explain why, in Zimbabwe, if you have never heard of it, unemployment stands at 90%. We went through hyperinflation 4 years ago and our economy has not recovered still. Inflation stood at 1 quintillion %. The poverty datum line stands at around US$550 per month but the average salary is at around US$300 per month.
