We are fighting to save my Pit Bulls from euthanasia. I have a great law firm that has picked up my case, and I need help raising the attorney fees.My name is Heather Weiand. I am the voice for the voiceless! I am a very proud pit bull mom of Kannon Thunder and Sarge, who were seized from my home on March 27, 2013 without a warrant. They were accused of biting a neighbor. My husband and I were not home on that Wednesday until 1:00pm central time. We were told, at first, that the bite happened at 12:30pm. The officer that came to my house asked to take pictures of my boys and told me that the man that was bitten was at the hospital being stitched up. Trying to be a good citizen I allowed the boys to be photoed. The officer left and returned 8 minutes later with a new story. That all 3 of my pit bull dogs attacked my neighbor. At this point I was told that I needed to release my boys to animal control. My husband and I demanded a warrant several times. The officer told us that he did not need one, and if we did not release our dogs to him that my husband and I would go to jail, he would terminate our dogs, and cut their heads off to see if they had rabies. Mind you all of my dogs are current on short and they had their tags on their collars. I also have a 5 year old corgi mix. When I told that my 3 pit bulls were going to be taken to the shelter for rabies observation I asked why only the pits were being removed and not the corgi mix, since rabies is a virus and all of my dogs share food and water dishes. The officer stated, "because he isn't a pit bull". My boys were supposed to be returned home in 10 days. That would have been Friday April 5, 2013. I still do not have my boys home. I am currently in the process of trying to get a police report and proof that this said "attack" even happened. I just recently heard from the local heath department, the manager there had finally gotten the report on the bite. I was told at this time that the bite happened on March 27, 2013 at 11:55am. When my husband and I leave the house we are sure to secure the boys in kennels and we also use pad locks on the kennels because Kannon and Thunder have learned how to rub on the kennel doors and get them open. We also never leave the house with out locking all the doors. We will fight with all our heart to prove that our babies are innocent, although that shouldn't have to be the way it is, because you are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. Please Help us in the fight to save Kannon, Thunder and Sarge, and bring them home so our family can be whole again.
