Hello everyone,
My name is Adrian, and I am writing this from a
place of vulnerability that I never imagined I would find myself in. I
am a Costa Rican citizen currently living in Venezuela with my wife,
Esteymar. We are facing an incredibly difficult reality, and today, I
am reaching out to the kindness of strangers because we have run out
of options.
Right now, our lives are completely on hold. Because
of local immigration regulations, I am unable to apply for a work visa
while remaining inside Venezuela. The legal path requires me to travel
to another country to process my status, but doing that requires
money—money that we simply do not have.
This legal limbo has left
me entirely unable to secure a job or generate an income. We are
living with zero savings, watching the days go by while feeling
completely helpless.
My wife, Esteymar, is currently the only one
bringing money home. She works incredibly hard, but her job has been
unstable recently, and the salary she earns is barely enough to cover
the absolute basics. In a country facing its own severe economic
challenges, a single, low income is not enough for two people to
survive.
To be completely honest, the weight of this situation is
taking a massive toll on my mental health. Waking up every single day
wondering how we are going to get through the next week, seeing my
wife carry the entire burden on her shoulders, and feeling trapped by
paperwork and borders has brought an overwhelming amount of stress and
anxiety into our lives. It is a quiet, exhausting struggle that dries
up your hope.
What the funds will be used for:
The money
raised through this campaign will be used exclusively for our
day-to-day survival—food, rent, and basic necessities—while we figure
out our next steps and find a permanent solution to our legal and
financial crisis.
