My name is Lenford Davis, and I am writing this with a heavy heart, but with a fierce determination to be the father my two little boys need me to be.

Just a few weeks ago, my world was complete. I was married to the love of my life, my partner in everything. We were overjoyed to be welcoming our second son into the world, completing our family of four. Our 2-year-old son was excited to be a big brother.

But in an instant, everything was shattered.

During the birth of our beautiful baby boy, I lost my spouse. The woman I loved, my rock, my everything, is gone. I am now a single father to a precious newborn and a confused, grieving toddler who doesn’t fully understand why his mommy isn’t coming home. My heart is broken in ways I can’t put into words. I am trying to be strong for them, but the weight of this loss is unbearable.

As if this devastation weren’t enough, we were already in a fragile position. Before my spouse passed, she was our pillar—she was the one supporting us both mentally and financially. I was unable to carry that load because of what happened to me at work.

I was a construction worker, proud to do my job. But while on the job, I was stabbed multiple times while trying to deter staff theft. This wasn’t a sudden, unpredictable event. There was substantial evidence of the situation escalating over time. I repeatedly raised concerns, asking my employer to fulfill their most basic duty: to provide a safe working environment. They failed to protect me. They failed to protect their employees. As a result of the physical and emotional trauma from the stabbing, I am now medically unfit to perform my normal construction duties.

To make matters worse, I am now locked in an ongoing legal battle with that same employer over their negligence. It’s a fight I should not have to be in, especially now, but it’s a fight I cannot afford to lose.

So here I am. I am a grieving husband, a father to a newborn and a toddler, physically unable to work, and entangled in a legal battle, all while trying to navigate the most profound loss imaginable.

I am reaching out because I cannot do this alone. I need to focus on my sons. They need their father to be present, to heal, and to build a new life for them out of the ashes of this tragedy. Your support will go directly toward:

· Providing for my boys’ basic needs: Diapers, formula, clothing, and food.

· Keeping a roof over our heads: Mortgage and utility payments to ensure we have a stable home, a place where my sons can feel safe.

· Legal and medical expenses: Continuing the fight for accountability against my former employer and covering ongoing medical costs related to my injuries.

· Grief counseling: So I can be strong enough, mentally and emotionally, to guide my children through a life without their amazing mother.

My sons deserve a future filled with love and stability. I am determined to give them that, in honor of their mom. She was the light of our lives, and I will spend every day making sure they know how much she loved them.
