Hello friends and colleagues,

As many of you know, I work as a free-lance author. My income derives from writing gigs, website ad sales and personal donations. An ongoing case of narcolepsy prevents me from holding a regular day job. My cash flow has been quite low over the past few months, and as a result, I am behind on my apartment rent. I have an eviction notice for the end of July, and a court date set for July 26. However, my landlord and I have agreed that if I can raise the past due and current rent by July 26, the matter will be resolved, and I will be able to stay in my apartment. A generous friend has offered to pay approximately half of the amount due (I hope to raise enough funds so I can reduce the level of this person's donation). I have just received payment for a major writing assignment. A large donation also came in earlier today. I have reached out to (but have not heard back from) Catholic Charities for rental assistance. With your help, I hope to catch up and pay a month ahead on my rent. My Social Security checks begin in September, and along with earnings from CD liner note commissions (4 in process at this time) plus my forthcoming book on the "Pyramid" game shows, my financial problems should diminish in the coming months.
