We are a group of coordinated connected concerned citizens needing your help to gift life saving shelters for Lombok earthquake survivors.
Meet Prasoon, CEO of Billion Bricks, designing lifesaving emergency tents. Marge, long term resident in Gili Air, Indonesia. Nick, founder of Harapan Baru, local Lombok NGO, Laura, long term friend of Indonesia and experienced Development worker currently in the country and Hardi, Indonesian rescue ranger with experience in setting up and managing refugee camps and currently based in Gili Air.
Together, we are coordinating a professional response to the devastating earthquakes that have left over 270,000 people homeless in Lombok. We are emptying the Billion Bricks warehouses of all stock, including 35 lifesaving Weather Hyde all seasons tents to distribute among the neediest survivors.
Together with expert advice on the ground, we will work with local needs to ensure fair and equitable distribution of these much needed high-quality tents that will prove an invaluable shelter to families and individuals while people are scared and unable to sleep in the rubble that was once their family homes.
The cost of one tent is USD300, plus USD200 freight for delivery (tents currently in LA and Mumbai). Due to additional weight, poles will not be included, and can be easily purchased locally for US25 per tent. We are currently reaching out to freight and travel organisations to donate free or discounted freight so that the overall cost is reduced. We need your financial support, and we need it now, to decrease the number of families sleeping without shelter on the hills of Northern Lombok and give them dignity and a safe place to rest during the immediate emergency and mid term displacement they will suffer while rebuilding takes place.
