An anti-fascist was hit w/ a bogus lawsuit by an alt-righter for an alleged incident at the "March Against Sharia" in KC. Fascists have the wealth to drag comrades thru costly legal battles, so we're asking for solidarity to help this comrade fight back.

A few weeks back, a bunch of out-of-towners invaded downtown Kansas City to put on a racist, Islamophobic, and alt-right rally called the "March Against Sharia." These folks and their hate are not welcome in KC, so many locals and anti-fascists showed up to counter-demonstrate and defend our city against this vile display.

At one point, there was a confrontation between anti-fascists and an alt-righter who has ties to the Proud Boys. This individual allegedly had his megaphone knocked out his hand and smashed, and an anti-fascist was taken into police custody and ticketed.

Since then, this wealthy alt-righter has proceeded to file charges against this comrade, making the bogus claim that they were hit in the face, when all accounts and even video evidence clearly indicates otherwise.

The alt-right and their fascist cohorts typically come from bourgeois and petty-bourgeois backgrounds, and have the means to drag anti-fascists - who are overwhelmingly from working and oppressed communities - into costly legal battles. This person knows he will lose the case, but he has the money to throw at it whereas our comrade does not.

We are asking for solidarity from all who despise fascism and Islamophobia to donate to our comrade's legal battle, so that they can stay afloat and we can show these fascists that these types of tactics don't play well.

Smash fascism everywhere,

Kansas City Anti-Fascists
