Austin King left this life at the age of 22 as a result of a heroin overdose on 2/12/2005, while going through recovery. Founded 2006 - Determined to make something positive out of the loss of her son Austin’s mother began the journey to reach out to children at the Dallas Life Shelter who find themselves in unfortunate circumstances by providing them with Hope & Love. Due to the overwhelming response by the community, Austin’s Hope has been able to reach not only the children, but to provide for all of the adults as well. It is through the generous donations of friends and family in his memory, Austin’s Hope is able to provide a day for this community to feel special and let each person know that people care about them. Providing hope that they continue to move forward in their recovery. We have served over 3300 meals, and have given gift bags to all that join us at the party. Last year alone in one day we served over 378 people dinner, the women all received flowers, there were crafts for the children along with stuffed animals and goody bags for all! We had a photo booth, facepainting, air brush artist and ballloon twisters for the day.  So much fun was had!  May this continue in Austin’s Memory for many years to come.~In Memory of Austin King September 8, 1983 – February 12, 2005

The funds raised are used to provide the gifts for children, women and men, the flowers, decorations, balloons, stuffed animals, food, Children's books and dictionaries along with additional misc items that are not donated. All funds donated will be used for the party, we spend every penny to make Valentine's Day a wonderful memory for the residents.

Our need is immediate since the party is on Valentine's Day (February 14th) as we need to begin purchasing the gifts for all. Thank you in advance to everyone that supports this Day, if we save one person and give them hope to continue on their journey, and they go on and save one; the number of people we save can be endless.

God bless you all!
