My name is Eric Hernandez and I am majoring in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. I was recently caught smoking marijuana and I was given two notice to appear in court. After talking with an attorney, he told me that I would be able to get off with deferred prosecution and not have a criminal record. Unfortunately he is going to charge me $1500 dollars and I do not have the money to pay for it. I understand that what I did was wrong and do not wish for it to affect me for the rest of my life. If I do not get an attorney then I will be convicted and I will lose my financial aid and it will be very hard to get a job in the future. I want help so that I can put this behind me and straighten up my act. Even though I do support marijuana and legalizing marijuana, it is still illegal where I reside and therefore what I did was wrong. If I can get this money then I would be able to complete all of the stipulations that they set for me during my deferred prosecution and get on with my life. If I get this money I will be able to finish college and get a job anywhere I would like. Any donations are greatly appreciated and I cannot stress enough that I am the one ultimately responsible for what I did, even though I support legalizing marijuana.
