Atlanta Birdlady hasn't added a story.

BirdLady Cares Inc work year round to help those in need. This is the season to help our fellow man.

WE ARE ALSO ACCEPTING DONATIONS OF TOYS, CLOTHING AND NON-PERRISHABLE FOODS.

PLEASE CALL FOR PICK-UP IN ATLANTA AND MACON

The BirdLady’s Mission is threefold: *Put an end to Child Abuse and Domestic Violence . *Raise funds in support of programs and charities that serve children's health and physical exercise issues. *Encourage and support children seeking higher education. Including a BirdLady college scholarship program. Her social calendar stays full. Yet, this MBA still finds time to give even more to her community serving as an Ambassador for the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America. The BirdLady also accepts several invitations to mentor and speak to schools and groups around the Southeast. Tuesday’s have been designated as community service time and are always reserved for school or hospital visits. The two most memorable visits this year were to L.O. Kimberly Elementary School in Atlanta, The Lake Bridge Behavioral School in Macon and Fifth Street Hospital in New York City. She has teamed up with several of the players to support their individual charities including Matt Ryan and Coy Wire for ‘A Celebrity Family Night’ for The Make-A-Wish Foundation, she was a team leader within TEAM BELIEVE under Captain Coy Wire for The Make-A-Wish Foundation Walk for Wishes 2012. She continues to work as a team leader for Make-A-Wish and also grants wishes for sick children. One of her most favorite things is distributing Christmas toys with The Unity Network and Counseling Center, a non-profit foundation in Atlanta, GA which focuses on at risk youth. This past year, The BirdLady stepped out and sponsored 25 families under her own foundation, BirdLady Cares. The families were treated to a full program of music dramatic readings and gifts. She also joined T.I. and Jeezy for a Grand Christmas Toy Give-Away Show for approx. 3000 kids; and once again, provided the entertainment for The Douglas Brothers Foundation Christmas Toys Event. This comes in a close second to “Birds From The BirdLady”, where turkeys are given out at Thanksgiving to feed the hungry. Four years ago, The BirdLady was surprised when The rapper T.I. not only paid for 300 of the turkeys, but came and helped to hand them out with the BirdLady. This has become a yearly treat. The Birdlady performs and provides entertainment before handing out turkeys and collards to everyone. Supporting/Participating in The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and Shhh It's A Wig which provides wigs for cancer patients is a major cause for the BirdLady. She participates in three walks yearly. Having had a cancer scare and is closely monitored herself and having lost two family members to breast cancer, this cause hits close to home. She is joined by her three sisters in this charitable cause. She Leads the Go Pink campaign for the Falcons in October at The Dome when her normally Black and Red colors set aside as she goes PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness. Carolyn has fallen in love with Joshua. He was only four when he lost his battle with brain cancer. She never got to meet him, but she has been working very closely with his parents to help find a cure for childhood cancer. On Dec.16, at an event at Amstar Theatre in Macon, GA, she did radio interviews on Southern Sports Network Radio 1100AM with Falcon Players and did several hours of live television lead-ins and weather updates and forecasts along with local weatherman Ben Jones of 13WMAZ, she greeted guest, signed autographs posed for photos and gave out hugs. She was joined by past Falcon Players D.J. Shockley and Brian Jordan. On Feb. 4th, The 2nd Annual Joshua’s Birthday Bash to Benefit Steam Glioma Research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was a huge success. The dinner, donations and silent auction raised a sizable amount toward research for a cure in our lifetime. The BirdLady is committed and has jumped on board for Joshua’s Wish. She works on the annual 5k fundraiser and brings in her team to assist. Throughout the year there are several events that she also takes part in. She was a hit in The Cat Walk for Cancer Fashion Show. The BirdLady works year around as a humanitarian and is an honorary member of 7000 Men Inc. 7000 Men Inc is a non-profit organization that provides mentoring programs, educational programs, training options and crisis support specific for children, but is made available to people of all ages. An enormous effort has been focused on Georgia’s Middle Schools and High Schools. The Summer Day Camp provided by 7000 Men, provides the perfect foundation for the BirdLady to interact with and mentor the participants. The BirdLady had a special relationship with Toys For Tots in Georgia and North Carolina. During the Fal-Can Food Drive for 2010, The BirdLady collected over 750 cans of food to feed the hungry and is an advocate of The Falcons Designated Driver Campaign. When Carolyn was approached by Pinnacle Group Entertainment to be the spokesperson/host for a Musician/Bands United To Feed The Hungry & Marines Toys For Toys Benefit, she said yes without blinking. She did a media publicity tour of television and radio stations. The event itself consisted of 13 bands and ran about 15 hours. There were four outfit changes. She provided an autographed Atlanta Falcon team football to be auctioned off and also allowed herself to be auctioned off as a ‘BirdLady Game Day Experience’ which included for 10 lucky people a limo ride to the game with The BirdLady and The Birdetts (back-up dancers), tailgate tour, Falcons Landing, Game ticket, V.I.P. perks, and an autograph/photo session with the players after the game. The event raised a lot of money and toys for the kids. Carolyn also travels to out of state hospitals as the BirdLady (just to make patients smile) and visits children’s hospitals and orphanages, entertaining, painting faces and hosting pizza parties with The Falcon Fanatics Fan Club. The Falcon Fanatics was the first official fan club of The Atlanta Falcons, it host tailgate raffles to raise funds to host these parties. The BirdLady serves as the Officer of Media Relations which includes the production of their monthly newsletter. She is often the guest speaker at Football Banquets. Carolyn Freeman, The Real Atlanta Falcons BirdLady, is living proof that a fan can be just as inspiring as the team she loves.
