Ohana Rescue, Inc is a non profit GFAS verified 501c3 rescue who has been saving lives for almost 8 yrs. These past 6 months have been very hard on the humans here trying to keep the horses safe. NOT BECAUSE OF ANY ERROR ON OUR PART, but because the home we were under contract with, sold out from underneath us. We had to move quickly and moved onto a much smaller piece of property with a home that needed a lot of work. We are not afraid of hard work as the eight last yrs have proven, but what we were not aware of is the home is a petry dish of molds. Fire hazards also added to the mold issue. The home needs to be condemned, which we had a licensed contractor out here to verify. So here again, we are at a place in life that we have to move.

This house has made me deathly ill during the last three months. I have since moved out onto the screen porch that we tarped with an AC, just so I can start to breathe again and not drown from the allergies to the mold, and have been in this room now for almost a week. No complaints, the horses are safe.

Ohana Rescue, Inc, has found a piece of property that is right at 12 acres. There is an old mobile there that will need to be removed, but no impact fees needed. Electric and well is in place. The property has enough cleared already around the home, and the garages, that we can put up electric fencing for the horses. We will be using the tractor to clear more and more as the weeks go by, but first we must get in. The owner is going to finance for 15 yrs, but needs 20% down, which is normal for owner finance. 

Someone asked me this morning, WHY DONT YOU JUST GIVE UP ON RESCUEING?  My reply was....AND DO WHAT?

There are already too few rescues out there, the horses need more rescues, not less.

This will not be easy but well worth all the blood sweat and tears we will put into the property to make it a temporary home for the horses that need to be rehabbed..MIND BODY AND SOUL.
