Our lil’ Fridley Twinz, Ayden & Bryan, are TTTS (twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome) survivors, & both have been diagnosed with serious medical conditions since birth 2 years ago. (Brain malformation called pachygyria, onset of infantile spasms at 6 months old, CVI Cortical Vision Impairment, arthrogryposis, club foot, sensory disorder, autism) Our worlds have been turned upside down & inside out since almost 3 years ago when we found out we were having identical twinz, & then we were quickly diagnosed with a very severe case of TTTS. (surgery was required to try & save lives) Husband & I were in our last semesters of school, me my dual Master’s, & hubby finishing Culinary Degree, when we found out at 16 wks pregnant that we were carrying identical twinz & we had a severe case of TTTS. Our plans to complete our degrees & move on into our careers we had made plans for, were now put on hold & redirected. Our new lives of complete bedrest & confinement to my left side for 18 weeks, has continued into multiple DR's appointments, therapies, & other well appointments on a weekly basis. This “shift” in our family has caused me (mom), to not be able to work & am now a full time stay at home mom of 3 boyz in diapers (no daycare will take severe disabled kids under age 3), while dad has opened his own catering business, after not be able to find steady work. We have exhausted all resources, & are finding it nearly impossible to cover monthly medical needs/expenses & personal care needs/expenses….mortgage pmt, insurance pmts, car pmt, utilities, gas, food, diapers, wipes….. On top of the basics, we need to look at modifying our home to suite our boyz needs for now & the future, as well as an appropriate vehicle to handle Bryans equipment & the Twinz travel needs. Any funding we can raise to help keep our family afloat during these challenging times & help us transition into our new/modified lifestyle, would be a HUGE help & GREATLY appreciated. One of our twinz has been accepted into a special needs program here in WV, however he is on the wait list & not expected to get off the wait list until Winter 2014/Spring 2015. Once he is fully accepted into the Title 19 Waiver Program, I (mom) can receive a pay/income for taking care of all his well needs. This will be a tremendous help for our family, but till then we are desperately struggling to make ends meet. I/we truly need all of our focus to be put into our kids, their health & their future, & not worrying about keeping the lights on, a roof over their heads, or having enough gas in the car to get to & from appointments.
