Matilda originally came to Fancy Cats in 2010 from the PG County shelter. Soon after arrival, she developed a dangerous viral type of upper respiratory that damaged her left eye. Although adopted, she recently returned to us. She was getting skinny and bloodwork confirmed that she is hyperthyroid. She requires thyroid medication twice a day, which cost about $40 for a 60-day supply. http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/16855460
Felicia has been hospitalized numerous times for convulsions yet bloodwork has found nothing wrong. Her vet bill was over $1200. It is surmised she had a blood clot that passed. She is doing well and is looking for her forever home. http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/26061152
Dusty was suffering from plasma cell pododermatitis, commonly called “pillow paws.” A disease that affects the immune system and causes inflammation of the paw pads, he had to have surgery on his feet to remove the sores, which cost over $1000. He is now healed and ready for adoption. http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/26171667
Petey was returned after 4 years with the same family and suffered severe depression and stopped eating which led to hepatic lipadosis. He had a feeding food until he started to regain his appetite. He is completely better now but his vet bills cost around $1500. http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/25866138
TJ and Cowboy suffer from skin irritations, they scratch themselves raw. They suffer from food allergies. Depo-Medrol injections and antibiotics costs about $400 each. http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/25470477

Nugget, a beautiful Egyptian Mau mix, came with cloudy eyes. An eye specialist diagnosed that she can see fine but she has permanent scarring. Her condition seems to scare people from adopting her, which is so sad!! She’s a perfect little cat. http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/25050007
Irish’s teeth were so loose, it was too painful to eat. Our vet thinks she suffered trauma, someone may have kicked her in the face. She had her teeth removed and is doing well. Her surgery cost around $800. http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/25155798
Max big oozing sore on his nose that turns out to be an aggressive skin cancer. He has been to a specialist and many vets, costing around $1000. He is in a permanent foster home where he will be loved for the remainder of his life.
Salem, Henry, Ginger may be diabetic and Dr Watson, Ginger (orange and white), and Snoball are diabetics and get insulin twice daily. All continue to need bloodwork tests, which costs over $100 each, and ongoing insulin.

We have multiple cats that need to get their teeth cleaned, as is common when they get older. This costs $150-$200 per cat, and more if they need to get bloodwork done as well.
