Nugget came into us at the end of January 2013. He is a 25+ year old Morgan-Arabian cross. It has taken Nugget quite some time to get his weight gain to take off. We have spent the last few months building Nugget's appetite up to the point where his body is finally now receiving enough nutrients and calories to start increasing his weight. We are progressively moving forward now, as Nugget has gained 50 pounds in the last 3 weeks. As this sideways profile of him shows his progression of weight gain, his topline, pelvic, and rear still have quite a bit more weight to put on. Even though, this slowly builds over time, it is an extensive feeding program consisting of extra feeds and supplements used to build his weight.

Nugget is not the only horse here under this extensive, refeed program. We have 4 more Thoroughbreds that are in the process of finishing their weight gain and rehabilitation. It can be a difficult process at times to assist so many horses in need at one time, but we manage to do so as God provides.

As the number of horses rise and the adoption level lowers, we tend to feel a pinch at times with our feed and medical budget. We do have quite a few horses ready and soon to be ready for adoption. If you are interested in adopting, please inquire within, as this helps us immensely with our expenses. We ask our supporters to extend themselves out on a limb to help sponsor a horse with just a $20, $50, or $100 monthly donation to help assist us with their needs.

A more suffice way to help us provide would be to call directly to either the feed store or the vet to donate funds towards the animals in need.

Our greatest expense is the amount of horse feed we need on a weekly basis. We use Triumph 12% pellet, which can be purchased in the amount of $14.30 over the phone and added to our account at Wagon Wheel Feed.
