Hello my name is Joseph Harrington II. I am starting this fundraiser for my deaf uncle "Mark Harrison". Mark was born February 3, 1965 in California. The only thing Mark has ever had that he could really call his own was an apartment, which he lived in for 3 years and that was back in 2006 to end of 2008. Mark lived with his mother for most of his life until she was unable to do so because of her health. That's when he was set up in an apartment which he lived in for almost 3 year. My Uncle heard that his mother was really sick and living with my folks (His sister) and decided to give up his place and move in with my folks to help take care of her as much as he could. We moved him from Highland, Ca to Big Bear Lake, CA. Mark help out with paying bills, gas to get his mom to the doctors and food. He has help out friends and family with no expectations. His mother passed 2 years ago and it was a big hit to his heart. He stayed with his sister after his mother pasted away to help take care of her. Mark has given so much and sacrificed his own independence to help others. My uncle is the nicest and most caring person i know.
Recently mark decided that he wanted his own life, his own home. I told him I would move him from my folks place in Arizona, to my house here in Henderson NV for a short time and then we would find him a apartment of his own. So my uncle came to visit too see if he liked it down here. After a week and a half he feel in love with Henderson. While my uncle was staying with use we feel in to hard times and he offered to helps us stay afloat. He did. My uncle saved us from losing our home. So my wife and i have lived up to what i told him that we would help him get his own place and to have a life. My wife and I had been talking to our mobile home park manager telling her about my uncle to try and find as much info as possible so we could find him a cheap home. Over a month and a half that came true. My wife and I went to talk to the Villa Hermosa Park Manager (Tamra) about some things and we were disguising my uncle. She had told use that she had some trailers that she could give away as long as someone did the work on them. My uncle was given a 2 bed -1 bath single wide mobile home trailer free and also has 3 months to fix it up before he would have to start paying lot rent. Yes the trailer does need a lot work. Mark is so happy with it because it was all his. At 4 pm on April 30, 2013 Tamra (Park Manger) My wife and i gave mark some papers to fill out and then Tamra presented him with his Own and First house key. I have never seen my uncle so happy.
Mark has always given and now He finally had something given to him. Now with that being said this fundraiser is a way to help him out as much as possible . We are trying to raise extra money, to help him fix up the place. We are going to do what ever we can to fix the major stuff first like the flooring where in some area's the floor and broke thru,, carpet, some wall damage on the inside, some work on the out side. All money that is raise will be going straight to him, so he can get the items he needs to fix up his place. You can check in anytime and ask him how the house is coming. We will do our best to keep everyone updated. I love my uncle and even if you just read this, I hope you can feel something. Thank you for taking the time to read about my uncle. I hope you can find it in your heart to help him out. Even if you might have items for his house, that would be even better then money. extra paint (white, cream, Tan / sandy color is fine), Wood (4x4s, Large Plywood's, 2x4's and carpet are some items. I have supplied him with a lot of items to furnish his home so he is good on that part. Even a person with no job and on disability, can rise above and help those less fortunate then himself or someone in need and no exception of getting anything in return. He is one of gods great gifts.
