Our Story

My mom is my ride or die.

She has been living with Type 2 Diabetes for over 20 years, fighting quietly and consistently through the ups and downs that come with it. Recently, her condition took a more serious turn when she was also diagnosed with Peripheral Artery Disease and dry ischemia, complications that have severely affected the blood flow in her leg and foot.

Because of this, she recently had to undergo a painful but necessary surgery: the amputation of her right big toe. It was done to prevent the condition from spreading further and to try to save her leg from a more devastating outcome.

Now, we are at a critical point.

There is still hope to save her leg through a procedure called an angioplasty, which aims to restore blood flow and prevent further tissue damage. This surgery is scheduled to take place in Mérida on May 16th.

This is not just a medical procedure for us, it is a chance to preserve her mobility, her independence, and so much of the life she still wants to live.

We are holding on to hope and doing everything we can to make this surgery possible and successful. The road ahead is uncertain, but what keeps us going is the belief that this can still be the turning point.
