EDIT: We appreciate everyone that has helped us so far, it has allowed us to get this far. We are super close to our checks but after piling bills, are only left with a few dollars to feed ourselves. I've been facing possibly one of the darkest moments of my life recently.
Me and my family been living under a slumlord for the past year. It started as a good faith rental but slowly it became apparent they had no intention of letting us leave. Every time we began to save to move out they would raise the rent and lessen the repairs.
The RV we've been living in has nearly disintigrated. Black mold is on everything, there's no running water or plumbing. All sources of water have been illegally shut off so we have to rely on them directly to get water.
They have been unplugging my heating from the outside which has caused the death of my pet rats. I overheard them talking and it seems that might have been intentional.
The rats were very precious and important to me and my family and we loved them deeply. Their names where Rathew, Wethar (Rathew's evil twin brother), Scruffy, Cream, Socks, and Loser.
Not only that but a week ago my cat, Kittyjuice, mysteriously went missing.
The conditions are so bad that two of us have resorted to living in the car. It is winter in the middle of Washington and we are freezing in our own rotting home.
Our household is completely income fixed and they know this. The reason for raising rent has been cited as wanting to get their "kids nice things." My cupboards are bare and I am expected to subsidize their children. Whenever my roommates are gone they will come by to harass me for more money. I'm in a wheelchair and I can't really "get away" from the situations really well. So I either have to pay them or face no peace. Medical debt has ruined my credit.
We can't even pay off an old ticket.
This is why we're here. There is a hotel that rents rooms monthly nearby that doesn't require a credit check. It costs similar to the RV but it has heat, running water, a working bathroom, and continental breakfasts. All we need is to raise enough to break free of the rent cycle to get a storage unit and prepay for the room.
