48 Weeks running

Hello everyone! My name is Rachel. I am the mother to two beautiful boys, Cameron,6, and Parker,5.

Over the last few months, my wonderful boy, Cameron started having increased health issues and this last week, our world turned upside down. Cameron was diagnosed with a 15mm Chiari 1 malformation. Essentially, the bottom part of his brain, the cerebellum, is coming through the hole and into the canal of his spine. He suffers from severe headaches, blurry vision and nausea along with some coordination issues.

The only way to relieve his symptoms is to decompress the brain by removing the bone from around it and creating more space. This procedure will be done at All Children’s Hospital on Friday July 5th. There is also the small chance of needing further surgery in the future, but we hope this first surgery will be his only one!

Cameron is expected to be in the hospital for 2-3 days and then he will be discharged home. He will have restrictions for a couple of weeks and therefore will require a lot of care. I do have family help, but I am a single mom with one income and will need to take time off of work to take care of my boy. Any money donated would go to getting him the things he needs to recover and allow me to cover some bills while I take the time off of work, unfortunately bills don’t take time off.

Any amount will be incredibly appreciate!
