My name is Norman Salas, my daughter's name is Gabriela Salas. She's only 4 years old. A few days ago she started with a fever and a sore throat. Her mother took her to the ER and from there she quickly deteriorated I was transfer to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood Florida. While she was there, right before they were performing a spinal tap to rule out meningitis, she wanted to respiratory arrest, followed by cardiac arrest. They worked there for 2 minutes straight, giving two rounds of epinephrine and stabilize there with eight epinephrine drip. They revived her. Actually, her Creator, or Heavenly Father, is the one that saved her. He did it through the excellent team Joe DiMaggio. I've always had a very deep face in Jesus Christ and God, and I'm truly blessed to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Few people can say this. After the cardiac arrest, she was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, where she was hooked up to a ECMO machine, commonly known as a heart and lung machine. Her kidneys were failing and it was evident that she was in the severe septic shock syndrome. She was of course intubated, and she wasn't many types of different drips and they were using fentanyl to sedate her. This happened on Sunday evening. Yesterday, because she was improving, they decided to remove the heart and lung machine from her body. However, the tubing that connects to her heart remains, just in case they have to hook her back up to the heart and lung machine quickly. So she remains with a cracked chest. She is pretty much out of it and only opens rise once in awhile when they suction or 82. She notice and recognizes us, and I often whisper into your ear that God loves her and that God will protect her and that any pain or suffering she's going through will quickly be eliminated soon. My baby has always had faith, and this only strengthens her face I'm sure.

Today, they plan on closing or chest and tomorrow they plan on extubating her. She has a very long road ahead of her to recover 100%. There's going to be a lot of rehab and test and she's expected to remain in the hospital for at least one month. my daughter and I have formed an incredible and strong bond since I unfortunately got divorced nearly 3 years ago. It's me, my eight year old son Sebastian and Gabriella. Together we laugh, we love and we take each day as a present from God, because that's what it truly is.
