My name is Tovalisa Dunker, I’m 18 years old and live in Gothenburg, Sweden. This FundRazr is for my my beloved cat Rut, whom I got when I was 15 years old.

She came to us as a kitty, just some weeks old and you could tell from the start that she was something different. You see, Rut is more than just a cat, when she joined the family she instantly became both me and my brother’s best friend. Rut has a certain, warm presence, it feels like she truly understands you, and when you see into her eyes she stares back with an almost human look. She can feel when I’m sad, when I’ve had a bad day she greets me with a meow at the door and gives me me that look that says ”I understand. Everything is gonna be okay”, and when I have trouble sleeping at night I can always count on her to keep me company.

But this time it’s my turn to stay up with her all night as she wails of pain and loneliness. Rut had an accident yesterday, the 20th November, and completely broke her kneecap, or in medical terms; her patella. This time it’s my turn to tell her that everything’s gonna be okay. The problem is – I don’t know if everything is ever gonna be okay for her again.

Fixing a cat’s broken patella is extremely complex, and demands several different surgeries. Expensive surgeries, despite our insurance. Surgeries we cannot afford without help. That is why I’ve started this FundRazr, to ask for help to finance these extensive surgeries – to help save the life of my best friend.
