Debbie Park Bobshosky hasn't added a story.
Max was found as a stray around midnight on 7/18/16 off a freeway in Los Angeles. He was rushed to the vet on the morning of 7/19th to get examined and begin treatment for his injuries immediately. We initially thought he was ran over my multiple cars due to the injuries all over his body, but the vet thinks he may have been severely neglected by someone and/or has been on the streets for quite some time due to his condition. He is such a sad boy with a broken soul but we can tell how grateful he is for all his guardian angels wanting to keep him safe and care for him.
Max has severe pneomonia which makes it difficult for him to breathe and must stay at the vet for at least a week until it clears. He is extremely underweight and the x-rays showed his system is full of gravel, rocks and trash. We don't know how long he's been starving. He has open sores all over his body and even after 2 medicated baths within 2 days of arriving at the vet, he still smells like infection. Two of those open sores are so severe that most likely surgery will be required once he's healthy enough. Max also has hip dysplasia on his right hip but the vet believes it's not severe and he walks with a slight limp.
Because of his condition and special needs, Max is not boarded but housed within the treatment room where the vet staff monitors him during operating hours. This comes at a high cost, even with a rescue rate, of $42.50/Day... but I tell you, Max is SO worth it! Once the vet feels his pneomonia has cleared, he can be released BUT only if he has a foster that wants to open their home to him until a deserving forever home is found. We need to keep him safe in boarding until that wonderful day happens. Max also doesn't have a rescue yet, but I'm sure it won't be a problem in finding one if a foster steps up. Maybe that is you?
All donations received will go fully to Max's medical care, future surgery, boarding until a foster or forever home is found, and any special foods, supplements and supplies needed to get him healthy and comfortable. Donations may also be called in to the vet directly but please mention it's for MAX under Debbie Bobshosky's account:
Huntington Pet Vet (714-969-0211) located at 20032 Beach Blvd., Huntington Beach, CA 92648
Thank you all for your donation and support to help Max start his new life... the one he always deserved! All my gratitude, Deb Bobshosky
