Na’atik Language and Cultural Institute was founded by Catherine Gray and her husband Pedro Esquivel Puc in 2010 to provide accessible English classes to the local community in Felipe Carrillo Puerto. The institute currently serves over 150 local children and has 15 students enrolled in the Project.
“We recognized that Carrillo's children living in poverty would never have a chance to attend Na'atik without financial assistance,” says Catherine Gray.
In early 2013 Catherine and Pedro created The Na’atik Maya Youth (MY) Project to provide this assistance. Through this initiative Na’atik is able to teach English language, teamwork, and leadership skills while increasing educational investment and parent engagement among students and their families living in poverty in the Quintana Roo Maya Zone of Mexico.
This year Na’atik needs $2000 to provide education to children in need. Reaching this target will allow all 15 MY Project students to keep learning, growing and preparing for a better future. It will also allow Na’atik to invite two more children to join the program this year. With your generosity the MY Project can reach this goal and provide children with the invaluable gift of education.
